"My family is hurting.  I know that God's Word will help us to heal, but between work, shopping, and all the other things of modern life I don't have time to read the BIBLE myself, much less spend time with the kids in His Word.  What can I do?????"

We spend many hours driving from place to place these days.  You can take time in the car to talk about God.  Share with your children all that He has done for you.  Point out all of the beautiful creation that you are passing.  Show your child the moon, the stars, the sunset.  Listen to children's songs about Jesus instead of the radio.  It doesn't have to take long.  Just let God be a part of your every day life.

Deuteronomy 6:7 says about the things of God, "Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up."

God wants to be where we are, a real part of our lives.

Still struggling? Come in and share with us.  We are sinners saved by grace, too.  We have families and problems, too.  We will pray for your family and offer any counsel the Lord leads us to give.

God's Word on Families

The Words of Jesus when He walked the earth:

Matthew 18:5-6 "...whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.  But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."

Matthew 19:13-15 "Then little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them.  But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.' When He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there."

Other Scriptures on the Family:

Psalms 127:3-5  "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them."

Proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

Proverbs 17:6 "Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children."

Proverbs 13:1 "A wise son heeds his father's instruction..."

Proverbs 15:20 "A wise son brings joy to his father..."

Proverbs 19:18 "Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death."

Proverbs 20:7 "The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him."

Proverbs 20:11 "Even a child is known by his actions,..."

Proverbs 22:15 "Folly is bound up in the heart of a child..."

Proverbs 29:15 "...a child left to himself disgraces his mother."

Proverbs 29:17 "Discipline your son, and he will give you peace; he will bring delight to your soul."

Ephesians 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  'Honor your father and mother'-which is the first commandment with a promise--'that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on earth.'  Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

What Keeps Us Going

"Lometa First Baptist Church hosts the Capital Area Food Bank truck the third Wednesday of every month.  Without their generous outreach through this program, my family would often go hungry.  I am grateful to the church for the hours their members give in this effort."
